Crimson satellite
Aragonite
Many of the aragonite has been found around Aragon, Spain.
Since the mineral comes in many shapes and colors, we
have chosen to place it as an hexagonal crystal object in the
acrylic. Although it is a common mineral that can be found in
Morocco, the shape is very much similar to the Russian
satellite “Sputnik” and thus has gotten its nickname as the
satellite. The main material is made out of calcium carbonate
and contains some iron, which makes it red. Also many of the
shell, coral and pearl contain similar elements.
